It's winter and the family's looking forward to Lady Alexandra's upcoming birthday. Antigone is expecting their second child, and everyone in the household has their fingers crossed for an heir.
And their prayers are answered! It's pure good luck that it's a boy after all the girls we've had. Lord Vivian, the future Lord Ashbury joins the family.
"Thank the watcher!"
"Pregnant again so soon?"
Antigone really needs to start inviting someone else over for tea.
But yes, she's pregnant again in record time.
I'm so embarrassed that they still can't afford curtains.
Meanwhile Dana is busy making friends whenever he isn't at work. Since he's neither pregnant nor tied up with household work in any way, there's no excuse for it taking him so long to climb the career ladder as it has. If he doesn't start making more money they're on the verge of being visited by the repo man.
Rather than celebrating Christmas, the Ashburys throw a New Years party, inviting the Meadowsweets and the Wormwells. I'm hoping to make it an annual thing, but it is very hard to plan parties around all the babies.
Next time I'll just throw a regular house/dinner party. It was a bit weird when the night ended with everyone running out into the street to bang on pots and watch a baby dancing the smustle.
Hope spends her free half-day catching up with her son. She's been concerned with his mood swings and there have been reports that he has been acting out, stomping flower beds and the like. She knows he's lonely and overworked, and she can't blame him since she's the same.
With two children in the household and more on the way, Hope is running ragged keeping everything running at Ashbury Hall. Breakfast was late that morning. She's already dreaming of the day when the children in town grow up and the Ashburys can hire some more help.
I would love for the family to have a governess, but again there isn't anyone available yet.
Vivian also grows up. I messed up with the first born bug again so he's a clone of his sister, but given their faces, I'm interested to see how they'll look when they grow.
He rolls fortune/knowledge and the inherits the traits snob and grumpy. Perfect for a little lordling!
In the early hours just before spring Antigone gives birth to their second son, Cassander.
But the delivery isn't without complications and this happens! Luckily Dana was able to save her, but it was a close call.
The household is in complete chaos. The cats are yowling, the babies are crying, and the only one sleeping in the entire house is Alexandra. I really don't know why the laws of randomness decided this was the rotation everyone needed to die!
What a night! Everyone is miserable but they make it through the rotation alive, just and just.
