Rotation 1.5 Fall, Waits

Time to visit the second trade family; the Waits. They live in a slightly cramped but well-situated house on the main street of the commercial district.

Thornton and Eva seem to be well suited for the other with similar reserved and gentle dispositions.

While they are traders like the Harrows, I imagine they're a bit better off due to the respectability of Thornton's profession.  He's a clocksmith by trade and a tinkerer at heart. Victorians were alla bout clever automatons and clockworks.

Thornton is a 7-3-5-6-4 (neat and quite shy) Cancer and a knowledfe/fortune sim. His traits are perceptive, perfectionist, brooding, handy, and eccentric. And he has a thing for robots.

Eva is a family/grilled cheese sim with a much more manageable LTW to have a golden anniversary. She's a 4-3-4-7-7 Aquarius (playful and kind) and she's into handy men with beards. A bit of a dreamer who should be a good match for Thornton who's so grounded

Her traits are natural cook, childish, nurturing, hopeless romantic, and good sense of humour.

The family starts with skilling. I like for the ladies to get 4 cooking skill points as soon as possible to they can serve a proper breakfast. Beyond that I'd like to get her creativity up so she can start sewing.

Thornton is working on mechanical which he'll need for his profession.

They run the shop every day and make quite a good team. I'm getting them the wholesale perks which should net them a pretty penny once they can upgrade to a more expensive inventory.

I'm really happy with way the shop turned out. It's small but functional and they have a great view. At the moment they're selling music boxes, phonographs, lockboxes and some toys in addition to clocks. The idea is to eventually split the shop into a clock/mechanical/robot shop and a toy shop if the Waits have two sons.

It's not easy to find time to earn badges between skilling and running the store, but Thornton does as much as he can.Either way the business is doing very well and he already earned a best of the best award

Now that we're playing middle-class families, they get access to the nice pub rather than the seedy tavern by the docks. This pub is men-only since respectable women weren't seen in these kinds of establishments. It's a place for the men to make friends, especially the profession class men who need connections for their careers.

He hasn't had any desire to make friends yet, but it's a place for him to read the morning paper and get his fun up more quickly than he can at home.

In typical sims fashion Eva goes into labour in the tiny bathroom. and in the middle of the work shift when Thronton can't help her. And she does need help because--

It's twins. Twin boys. Both have black hair, brown eyes, and medium skin. They name the first born Eden and the younger Emmet.

That brings the baby gender ratio up to 4/3 which evens things out nicely. I was afraid I'd only have girls.

It doesn't take long for Eve to be pregnant again after that. Expecting and feeding twins isn't a winning combination, even with the added luxury of the lower middle class. We'll see how she handles her second pregnancy next time.
